Do you really get what you pay for when buying a business in NZ?
When looking for a business, it’s 100% true there is alot of rubbish on the market… the type of low cost business opportunities in NZ that are quickly ’rushed’ online by people who have never made a profitable, sustainable and decent living from the very business they are promoting!
In my opinion, the way you create yourself an opportunity from scratch, is to look for existing businesses that are doing well, and spin off a niche opportunity that is derived from that business.
For example, the iphone is a very popular product, and look how many people make a small fortune selling iphone covers! It’s the same theory as the ‘gold rush’ days. Who made more money… the people digging for gold, or the people selling the shovels to the people digging for gold? Answer: The smart person who was selling the shovels!
The other option is to buy yourself a low cost franchise opportunity in NZ. Recently I spoke to a franchisor of a lawn mowing company in Auckland. His franchises cost around $11,000 to get started, and some of his franchisees are making up to $1200 p/week! That’s an excellent return on investment because you get the ongoing repeat work from the same clients! THEN….
Other people have invested $100,000+ into franchises in NZ and made little to no money at all. Seriously, who’s going to pay big money upfront for a business selling $4 muffins… not to mention the ongoing overheads the large shopping centre chains charge, and the staff involved etc. There are certainly high end profitable franchises that make big money, but my guess is that you are most likely searching for profitable low start up business opportunities that you can grow.
